New Player Announcement!

We would like to introduce Rochelle Wilson who is our 12th player for the inaugural women’s team.

Occupation – early childhood educator
Fav sporting moment – winning Calisthenics state titles as coach and a competitor

We are excited to introduce Haley Eyles as our eighth player of the inaugural Women’s team.
A little about Haley
Bat- right
Bowl-right
Previous cricket club- none I’m a newbie.
Other sports- netball
Marital status- single
Kids- no
Occupation- Myotherapist & public servant
Fav sorting moment- Collingwood beating Richmond to play in the 2018 Grand final.
Fav sports person- Mason Cox, Geva Mentor, Ask Brazil
Looking forward to- playing a new sport.

New Player Announcement!

We are getting some real momentum now with girls committing to the inaugural Women’s team. The sixth player is Melanie Kelsall, who joins her sister Sarah in the team. This is the second set of sisters.

A little about Melanie:

Bat – right
Bowl – not sure I can with either arm!
Previous cricket club – only ever been at Wallington – as a supporter only!
Other sports – Many in the past but nothing for a long long time. Baseball for Bellarine Bears as a teenager at Wallington; tennis, swimming, surfing, hockey, basketball, netball, gaelic football and water polo.
Marital status – happily living in sin (good bloke apparently).
Kids – two adorable daughters Ava nearly 8 and Tilly 2.5.
Occupation – Practice manager and mum.
Fav sporting moment – Ash Barty winning Wimbledon. Also personally getting two feet on my surfboard and riding some great waves.
Fav sportsperson – Lisa Curry-Kenny
Looking forward to – getting back into sport, training, road trips and having fun with some great chicks without children!

Occupation: Support Coordinator- Disability
Favourite sporting moment: lots of different moments but especially when the underdog gets up, always good to watch

Look forward to: being part of the first chix cricket team for Wallington!

Ash has played some Senior Cricket a couple of years ago and joins her sister Maddy in the team.

Occupation – Student/Budding AFLW star!
Fav sporting moment – Playing in the Geelong Falcons finals

Michelle is a valued volunteer around the club and can often be found cooking the BBQ on Friday night.

Occupation – pharmacy Assistant / Technician
Fave sporting moment- won finals with my team at table tennis

Maddy has been floating around the club the moment she was able to walk with her dad Justin (Life Member) and uncle Marcus as past players.

It is with great pleasure that we announce that Simon Perry will be the coach of Wallington’s Inaugural Women’s side. Pez is excited to build the women’s program from the ground up and wants to make it a fun and inclusive environment to learn the game of cricket. Pez will be on hand at the Information Night on Thursday 5th August at Mr Grubb’s Oakdene to meet prospective new players. Coach = tick Grant funding approved to purchase women’s playing kit = tick Announcement of first players = will be announced later this week. If you want to get on board to be part of the inaugural team, let me know.

We are pleased to announce that Damien Biemans will coach the Wallington cricket club in season 2021/22.

Damien “Boof” is a man of much experience and his passion for the club will drive it to success. Damien is a life member of the club and comes with a wealth of knowledge about the game, but also brings a tremendous amount of respect to the game, players and club.

If you are after the life blood of the Wallington Cricket Club, you can not go past Damien.

We look forward to him bringing success to the club over the next 2 seasons.
